Staged Reading of "Backwards, Forwards, Backward" by Jaqueline Goldfinger - When a soldier returns from war carrying the ghosts of the tour, she is faced with a sobering decision: address th alarming PTSD with Virtual Reality therapy, or risk losing access to her family forever. Can this new technology re-calibrate the brains and bodies of wounded soldiers? This electric, vivid, one-person show explores the power of healing and finding strength in vulnerability.
Initiated in 1992 to provide a working platform for the under-served voices of women writing for the theatre, CSC's Women Playwrights Series (WPS) has now featured and helped to develop the new work of over 60 playwrights from around the country, and produced fifteen World Premieres in as many years, from works developed in the playwright series. Plays presented in the developmental WPS program are finalists in the Susan Glaspell Award Competition, and are under consideration for full production in a subsequent season at the Centenary Stage Company, the professional theatre in residence on the campus of Centenary University.
